Fin Green Tallies More Ginetta Points On First Outing With New Team

Fin Green produced another strong performance in the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 Supercup this past weekend (September 28/29), tallying a trio of top seven finishes at Silverstone. Making the switch from Total Control Racing to Rob Boston Racing for the remaining two events of the season, the 16-year-old enjoyed a consistent showing around the 1.6-mile National circuit to pick up a solid haul of championship points. Fine-tuning his rear-wheel-drive machine during Friday’s practice sessions, Green battled traffic and an ever-drying track surface in qualifying on Saturday to set the seventh fastest time in the Pro class for the opening encounter of the weekend. Showing his pace as soon as the lights went out, the Thruxton podium finisher underlined his race craft at the sharp end of the ultra-competitive field to make progress and ultimately take the chequered flag in sixth place in his Ginetta G55 GT4. Green continued his consistency in the second race of the day as he extended his strong run of results in seventh. With there being such small margins in the series, the teenage racer showed all of his maturity behind the wheel - missing out on the podium by just a couple of seconds in the end. Sunday’s third and final race of the weekend saw Green once again underline his ability to run at the sharp end of the grid as he found himself in the thick of the action. Running inside the top six, the former Ginetta Junior race-winner served up a flawless performance to finish sixth. At the end of the penultimate meeting of the year, the GDS International, Meet the Boss, Opal, Sativa, Braxi and Sapphire Cars backed racer sits eighth in the overall Drivers’ Championship standings whilst Rob Boston Racing are top of the Teams’ Championship. Fin Green: "It has been another solid weekend and to come away with three more top seven finishes is encouraging. We made the switch to Rob Boston Racing for the final two rounds and everyone at the team has been brilliant, we’ve all gelled really well. “Looking at the weekend as a whole, I think had we not have had traffic in qualifying then things may have been a little bit different. We’ve had great pace all weekend but the front of the grid has been ultra-competitive so making progress was always going to be tough. “We certainly did our best though and will do the same at Brands Hatch. I’m hungry to be on the podium before the season is out so we will regroup and then aim to sign off our year on a high in Kent.” Green will bring the curtain down on his inaugural Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 Supercup campaign around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on October 12/13.
