Redline Racing Confirm Porsche Carrera Cup GB Return For 2020

Redline Racing will once again line-up on the Porsche Carrera Cup GB grid in 2020, with exciting Argentinian talent Dorian Mansilla and experienced Porsche racer Jamie Orton confirmed as their first two drivers of a multi-car entry for the upcoming campaign. The most successful team in Porsche Carrera Cup GB history with no less than ten drivers’ and teams’ titles under their belt, the Teeside squad head into the new season determined to regain their crown and are delighted to welcome Mansilla and Orton to the team. Mansilla will be embarking on only his second season of car-racing this year as he competes in Britain for the first time; an opportunity that comes as part of a driver development programme from Global Race SA that aims to promote Latin American racers abroad. The 20 year old graduated straight from karting into the F1-supporting Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup last season. Contesting eight of the ten events across the globe, an impressive maiden campaign included a best result of 12th during the season finale in Mexico. Orton meanwhile is entering his fourth consecutive season competing in the Carrera Cup GB and he is no stranger to the Redline Racing team, having contested three events with them at the start of his maiden Porsche campaign back in 2017. The London-based driver, who was previously a race-winner in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, secured multiple Pro Am class victories in 2018 and initially battled in that class last year, before stepping up to the Pro category and taking a superb overall podium finish at Croft.

Simon Leonard – Team Boss: “We are delighted to have signed Dorian and Jamie to Redline Racing for the 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. Both drivers have shown they are quick behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car and are brilliant additions to our line-up this season. “It’s great to welcome Dorian to British motorsport. He showed some good potential in the Supercup last year and while adapting to a new country, new championship, new team and new circuits will provide a big challenge, we’re confident he’ll be able to progress well through the campaign. “Jamie started his Carrera Cup GB journey with us at the start of 2017, and in the years since he has made some huge progress in the championship. An overall podium finish last year was richly deserved and hopefully we can bring home some more silverware this season.” The 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup GB will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship with live television coverage on ITV4. The opening rounds take place at Donington Park on 28/29 March.
