Blake Angliss Set For Ginetta Return At Silverstone Festival

Blake Angliss will make an exciting return to Ginetta racing this week, joining the grid for the new-for-2023 GT Championship as part of the inaugural G Fest event at Silverstone (01-04 June).

Angliss spent the last two seasons competing in the BTCC-supporting Ginetta GT4 SuperCup, with a tremendous 2023 campaign seeing him fight for G55 Pro title honours. He eventually finished runner-up, with a brilliant tally of eight class wins and 17 podium finishes to his name.

The Coventry based racer, who made his car-racing debut in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in 2020, has sat on the sidelines through the current campaign so far as he explored opportunities to continue his racing career within sprint and endurance GT competition.

While he hasn’t raced yet this season, Angliss has been busy at race events coaching his younger sister Brea in the Ginetta Juniors. His outing at G Fest will mark a special moment for the Angliss family, with both siblings racing on the same event for the first time, and within the same team at Breakell Racing.

G Fest is an exciting new addition to Ginetta’s race calendar for 2023; a special long-weekend motorsport festival celebrating Ginetta’s 65th birthday with three days of racing, car demonstrations and parades, plus a Ginetta Fan Zone with entertainment, food and live music.

With a packed schedule seeing six races for the GT Championship across the Silverstone National and Grand Prix layouts, the weekend will provide the 20-year-old talent with maximum track time and multiple opportunities to add to his Ginetta trophy collection.

Blake Angliss: “Being around the opening British GT / Ginetta events of the season supporting Brea, I’ve been watching on with envy and champing at the bit to get back on track myself. Therefore I couldn’t be more excited to be getting out for G Fest.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for me to enjoy a lot of track time and showcase what I can do again. While the Ginetta G56 GTP is a new specification of car to me, my experience in the G55 GT4 will help me get to grips with it quickly.

“I’ll be racing a number of drivers I’ve come up against before, and I’m confident I can be challenging for wins and podiums over the three days. Thank you to Transend UK and Haigh for their support on getting me onto the grid this weekend – now lets go make it one to remember!”
