Double Porsche Champion Dan Cammish Reunites With Team Redline Racing

2015 and 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Dan Cammish will be making a thrilling return to the championship this season, reuniting with Team Redline Racing to challenge for an historic third title. The Teesside squad are the most successful team in Carrera Cup GB history with no less than ten drivers’ and teams’ titles under their belt, with one of their most successful spells coming from a formidable partnership with Cammish. A sensational debut Porsche campaign in 2015 saw the Yorkshireman stamp his authority on the championship with 11 race wins and five second place finishes in 16 races, before adding 12 more wins the following year en-route to becoming Redline’s third double champion in the series. Cammish went on to record one of the most famous victories in Carrera Cup GB history in 2017, as he led a field of 61 cars to win the support race of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Narrowly missing out on the title that year, he ended his time with Redline with 31 wins and 40 podium finishes together. A successful three year spell in the British Touring Car Championship followed, with Cammish establishing himself as a leading talent in the series throughout. Picking up a superb tally of 31 podium finishes, he came agonisingly close to winning the 2019 title. Whilst competing in the BTCC, Cammish maintained close links with Redline and acted as a driver coach for the team. He’ll now be back behind the wheel of the car himself and will be looking to make history as the first driver ever to win three Carrera Cup GB titles. Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Dan [Cammish] back on the grid with us in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this year. The BTCC’s loss is certainly our gain and we can’t wait to see what Dan can achieve this season. “Dan’s run between 2015 and 2017 was simply fantastic, and he was competing at a different level to the competition. We have no doubt that he’ll be right back challenging at the front this year and adding more silverware to his impressive collection.” Dan Cammish: “It is great to be returning to Redline Racing ahead of the 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season. In a way it feels like I never really left, having worked for the team as a driver coach in recent seasons “I have a fantastic relationship with Simon Leonard, and the whole team showed me a lot of support throughout my time in the BTCC. I am thankful to Simon for the opportunity to return to Porsche racing in the highly competitive Carrera Cup GB and I look forward to the season ahead." Entering its 19th year in 2021, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB is one of the most competitive and exciting championships in the UK. Utilising identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series has been the launchpad for a number of professional sportscar and GT drivers. The 2021 season will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship with live television coverage on ITV4. The opening rounds take place at Snetterton in Norfolk on 15/16 May.
