Jake Rattenbury Returns For Full Porsche Campaign With Team Redline Racing

Following an impressive one-off championship debut last season, Team Redline Racing will reunite with talented GT racer Jake Rattenbury for his first full season in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this year. Rattenbury, who will race with support from The Energy Check, joined forces with the most successful team in Carrera Cup GB history for the 2020 season finale at Brands Hatch and immediately made his mark on the series, securing a Pro Am class podium finish. The Welshman will return to the grid this season with an impressive pedigree in one-make GT racing, having made name for himself in recent years as a leading talent in Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition across the globe. Bursting onto the scene by being crowned the Lamborghini World Champion in both 2014 and 2015, that success earnt him a spot as a Lamborghini Squadra Corsa Factory Young Driver for two years as he continued to impress in the European, American and Asian championships. Rattenbury is no stranger to racing in the UK either, having started his career in Ginetta racing before competing in both GT3 and GT4 machinery in the British GT Championship. He was later crowned the 2017 GTC class champion in the GT Cup. Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “It was great to have Jake as part of the team for the final round last season, and we were immediately impressed by both his professionalism off track and raw speed on track as he took a richly deserved class podium finish. “That is a solid platform for Jake to build on as he embarks on a full season this year. Getting some good pre-season running under his belt will be important for his progress in the car, and we’re confident he’ll hit the ground running from the opening weekend.” Jake Rattenbury: “I am very proud to be joining Team Redline Racing, a team with such presence and experience in the Porsche paddock. I enjoyed racing with them last season, so it was a no brainer to return to them for a full Carrera Cup GB season. “I’m looking forward to hitting the track and getting more time in the car ahead of the new season. It’s going to be a very tough learning year in such a competitive championship, but I am excited for the challenge of getting back on the top step!” Entering its 19th year in 2021, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB is one of the most competitive and exciting championships in the UK. Utilising identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series has been the launchpad for a number of professional sportscar and GT drivers. The 2021 season will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship with live television coverage on ITV4. The opening rounds take place at Snetterton in Norfolk on 12/13 June.
