McKenzy Cresswell Prepares For British F4 Debut

Motorsport rising star McKenzy Cresswell is gearing up for the start of his debut season in the F4 British Championship next month, with great speed and progress during pre-season testing highlighting him as one-to-watch this year.

The talented teenager, who currently resides in Weybridge, Surrey and attends ACS International School in Cobham, will be making his car racing debut this season in the UK’s leading single-seater championship. He’s partnered with one of the top teams on the grid, JHR Developments.

Cresswell is making the move into car racing following a successful six year career in karting. Starting at the tender age of 8, an impressive rise through the ranks saw him go on to compete across the UK, Europe and United States.

The 15 year old has aided the transition from karts to cars with an extensive development programme in recent months, combining bespoke simulator training with iZone Driver Performance and on-track testing with JHR Developments to get him up to speed ahead of the new season.

Working alongside JHR’s experienced engineering team and driver coach Alice Powell, he’s made eye-catching progress behind the wheel and has produced standout performances during two official championship test days last month.

After impressively outpacing a number of more experienced rivals to finish fourth fastest overall in the opening test at Brands Hatch, Cresswell replicated that result during the series’ launch day at Silverstone as he finished less than six-hundredths of a second off the fastest time.

The countdown is now on for the opening races of the season at Thruxton in May, with Cresswell set to take to the grid thanks to the crucial support of digital recruitment agency Salt, soda drinks company Quenched Drinks and software company LzLabs.

McKenzy Cresswell:“I can hardly believe I am just one month away from lining up on the British Formula 4 grid. It is one of the most competitive junior single seater categories in the world, and the opportunity to race against the very best has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I am tremendously grateful to everyone who has helped make this happen.”

The F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost is the first step on the FIA single-seater pyramid. The 2021 season will be contested over 30 races across 10 events, all of which will take place in support of the British Touring Car Championship. The series will enjoy live television coverage on ITV4 as it visits the likes of Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
