Team Redline Racing Add Porsche Champion James Dorlin To 2021 Line-Up

Team Redline Racing have made an exciting late addition to their driver line-up for the 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup GB, with reigning Porsche Sprint Challenge GB champion James Dorlin joining the team for his championship debut.

A rising star in UK motorsport with tin-top and GT racing titles under his belt, Dorlin joins two-time Carrera Cup GB champion Dan Cammish, Jake Rattenbury, Josh Caygill and Micah Stanley in the Teesside squad’s entry for the upcoming campaign.

The 22 year old was a revelation during the inaugural season of the Sprint Challenge GB last year. A double win on the opening weekend at Snetterton set the tone for the year ahead, with five further wins and a total of 11 podiums in 12 races securing him the title in style.

Dorlin initially started his career in tin-tops, finishing runner-up in his first season in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2013, before taking top spot the following year. A step up to the Michelin Clio Cup Series produced more silverware as he won the 2016 title.

The Yorkshireman then moved up to the BTCC supporting Renault UK Clio Cup and starred in 2018 as he won five races in a row en-route to vice-champion honours. He then moved into sportscars in British GT, taking multiple GT4 class podium finishes as a McLaren Development driver.

Dorlin makes the move to the Carrera Cup GB with the support of key partners Asta Tools, FOGLDN and JDA Customs. Whilst he has had limited testing in his new car, he’s confident he will hit the ground running in the season opener this weekend at Snetterton (12/13 June).

Simon Leonard – Team Boss: “We’re delighted to be welcoming James Dorlin to Team Redline Racing for the 2021 season. James is one of the most exciting young talents in British motorsport and he’s got all the attributes to star in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

“James has been successful in every championship he’s competed in across his career so far, and his performances in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB last year were very impressive. While it’s a late deal for this season, we have no doubt he will be in the mix from the off this weekend.”

James Dorlin:“I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Team Redline Racing. Their track record in this championship speaks for itself and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together this season in a highly competitive entry.

“Having had limited running in the car, I know I’m jumping in at the deep end and I’m realistic with my ambitions. With the title win last year though, I feel I’ve got momentum behind me to kick start the new season and I’m determined to be competitive from the off.”

Entering its 19th year in 2021, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB is one of the most competitive and exciting championships in the UK. Utilising identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series has been the launchpad for a number of professional sportscar and GT drivers.

The 2021 season will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship with live television coverage on ITV4. Team Redline Racing are aiming to add to their record tally of ten drivers’ and teams’ titles in the championship.
