Xentek Motorsport Return To Ginetta GT Academy With Paul Livesey
Xentek Motorsport have expanded their Ginetta programme for the remainder of the 2023 season with a return to the GT Academy grid, as Paul Livesey makes his championship debut this weekend at Silverstone (06/07 May).
The South Yorkshire squad will now have a presence in all three of Ginetta’s one-make championships as Livesey grows his family’s association with the team, with his young son Felix also competing in the Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship.
Livesey Snr, who races with support from LCM Ltd, will make his Ginetta bow with previous racing experience in the Porsche Club Championship, Aston Martin Owners Club and historic competition, however he has not raced regularly in more than a decade.
The 50-year-old racer from Preston will benefit from Xentek Motorsport’s wealth of experience in Ginetta racing, including being front-runners in the GT Academy last year with Danny Dwyer, as well as driver coaching from reigning British GT4 champion Sennan Fielding.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Team Manager: “We’re delighted to be going racing with Paul [Livesey] this season. He’s enjoyed getting to grips with the car in testing so far and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve this weekend and beyond. It’s going to be special having a father and son racing together with us again and hopefully both can enjoy some great results this year.”
Paul Livesey: “Having not done much racing since 2010, I’m rusty to say the least, but I’m excited to be racing again. I’ll be working hard to try and get as close as possible to the pointy end of the grid with the support of the team and Sennan [Fielding]. Xentek Motorsport have been fantastic from the start with Felix and it’ll be a great experience to race in the same team on the same meetings as him.”
The Ginetta GT Academy is an entry-level GT series that offers drivers of all experience levels the opportunity to enjoy high-performance racing at an affordable cost. The championship receives the exposure of competing alongside the British GT Championship and for 2023 will be contested over 23 races across eight events.
