Xentek Motorsport Return To Ginetta GT Academy With Phil McGarty

Xentek Motorsport will be reuniting with Ginetta stalwart Phil McGarty for a campaign in the GT Academy in 2024, starting this coming weekend at Oulton Park (30 March - 01 April).

McGarty is preparing to enter his tenth consecutive season of one-make Ginetta racing and is no stranger to the Xentek Motorsport squad, having raced with them in both the GT5 Challenge and GT Academy previously.

An Am class race-winner in GT5s with them, the Greater Manchester-based driver impressed with regular top ten finishes in his debut GT Academy season last year - with a best result of seventh overall on a couple of occasions in his Ginetta G56 GTA.

The addition of McGarty expands Xentek Motorsport’s Ginetta line-up to three cars for the Easter weekend season opener at Oulton Park, with the South Yorkshire team also running brothers Conner and Luke Garlick in the GT Championship.

Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Team Manager: “We’ve enjoyed our time racing with Phil [McGarty] in previous years, so we’re delighted to have him back with the team. He made some great progress in the GT Academy last year and we’re confident that he’ll make more strides forward this year.”

The opening round of the Ginetta season will see three races each for the GT Championship and GT Academy, split across Saturday (30 March) and Monday (01 April). Every race will be streamed live on Ginetta’s YouTube channel.
