Xentek Motorsport Target Ginetta GT5 Challenge Am Honours With Bal Sidhu

Xentek Motorsport will reunite with Bal Sidhu for a fourth consecutive season of racing together in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge this year.

Alongside their quest for an historic fifth overall Pro drivers’ title in the championship this season, the South Yorkshire based team also have their sights set on a challenge for a maiden Am class crown with multiple race-winner Sidhu.

The West Midlands based racer is gearing up to compete in the GT5 Challenge for a fifth year in a row. A consistent front-runner in the Am class throughout his time in the series so far, he’s impressively won at least one race in each of the four seasons he’s contested.

Sidhu, who has picked up a total of 18 podium finishes to date, is aiming to improve on his best championship result so far of fourth and push for top honours in the upcoming campaign.

Sarah-Jayne McKenna - Team Manager: “We’re so pleased to have Bal [Sidhu] back with us for a fourth consecutive year, showing us that trust and loyalty. He’s a pleasure to have in the team and is truly the life and soul of the awning.

“Bal has all the talent needed to go out there and win the title this season. It’s been a positive winter of testing for him, he’s faster than ever, so it’s just about improving his consistency with points and podiums through the year.”

Bal Sidhu: “I am looking forward to going GT5 racing again with Xentek this year. I’ve had some great fun racing in the championship and after improving year on year, I feel like this is my best chance yet to get regular race wins and challenge for the title.”

The Ginetta GT5 Challenge, which for 2023 forms part of the grid of the new Ginetta GT Championship, is a popular championship for aspiring GT racers. Renowned for producing great racing, the series will be contested over 23 races across eight events, six of which will be in support of the British GT Championship.
