Xentek Motorsport Welcome Oliver Cottam For 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

Xentek Motorsport have signed Oliver Cottam as their first driver for the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, with the exciting young talent set to challenge for overall honours in a brand-new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS.

After an impressive first season in one-make Porsche racing last year, the South Yorkshire team are expanding to a multi-car entry for their second attempt at the Sprint Challenge GB; an ultra-competitive championship that serves as an ideal proving ground for aspiring GT drivers.

Cottam makes the switch to GT competition after learning his trade in tin-tops. A regular podium finisher during three years in the Junior Saloon Car Championship, the 17-year-old racer stepped up to the TCR UK Championship last season and scored multiple top-ten finishes.

The rising star, who is a third-generation driver following in the footsteps of his father Edward and grandfather Alan, has got his first taste of Porsche machinery in the previous Clubsport model and will be starting a testing programme in the new RS in due course.

Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Team Manager: “We’re excited to welcome Oliver Cottam to the team as he makes his move into Porsche racing. He’s a talented young driver who’s impressed in his early years and based on his testing performance so far, we reckon he’ll be one to watch in the Sprint Challenge GB.”

Oliver Cottam: “I am proud to be competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB with Xentek Motorsport. This is the start of an exciting new chapter in my career and I’m really looking forward to the start of the season to see what we can achieve.”

The 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will be contested over 18 races across six events, all of which will take place on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship. A later-than-normal start to the season sees the opening round take place at Snetterton on 25-26 May.
